Transparent Bookshelf With 3 Shelves Or Was It 4?

Transparent Bookshelf With 3 Shelves Or Was It 4?

I can already imagine this bookshelf design in many high-end decorated apartments. It has the perfect clean cut with minimal lines, and it’s almost transparent.

The optical illusion book shelf is not tricking your eye to think it’s almost invisible, it trick you to think that there are 3 shelves from one side and 4 from the other. That kind of illusion is based on the one that is called Blivet or Impossible Fork. It’s a two dimensional illusion that has now transformed into a 3D book shelf. You can easily put books on it, and it will look like they are levitating. You can even hang magazines or place iPads on it as well.

The impressive shelf was created by Designer John Leung from the company ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects. He says that “the optical illusion serves as a reminder that, whenever one picks up a medium, ideas can be misinterpreted when passed from one end to the other.” That means literally for this bookshelf. You never know when the eyes are going to trick you. This weird pool makes you believe that it’s normal, until someone gets in it.
