Movies With The Same Plot

Movies With The Same Plot

Have you ever thought to yourself while watching a movie for the first time: “Hey, I’ve seen this before…” or “Déjà vu” There is a reason for that.

The most convincing one is that it’s because you’ve already seen a movie with same plot. There are tons of movies that copy each other, but here you have a list of the ones that have almost the exact same story. Notice the release dates, not many years apart. Coincidence?

No Strings Attached vs. Friends With Benefits
The couples in both movies have love issues that they complain about to each other, but still they’re up for some fun, so they find out that it’s best to continue being friends, but with bedroom benefits.

Kick-Ass vs. Super
Both “superheroes” are just random dudes that has no skills or powers, but still they decide to become costumed crime-fighters after getting inspiration from comic books.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop vs. Observe And Report
In both comedies there is a main person that dreams of being a real cop, but unfortunately is only a security guard at a mall.

Happy Feet vs. Surf’s Up
Happy and funny penguins all the way, do I need to say more?

The Prestige vs. The Illusionist
Both plots are situated in London, and they have both an important question that needs to be answered: Is the magic real? The setting and the mood is about the same.

Capote vs. Infamous
Drama movies that both are about the writer Truman Capote that tries to find out everything he can about a horrible murder of a Kansas family.

Madagascar vs. The Wild
Animated movies both about a lion, giraffe and their fellow friends from New York’s Central Park Zoo that end up somewhere crazy.

The Descent vs. The Cave
Groups of people go caving but end up being caught in a nightmare with scary stuff splashing around in the dark. Location is different though.

Chasing Liberty vs. First Daughter
Female actors in both movies play US president’s daughter that has been nice and uptight all her life and now she just wants to escape away from it, which she does, and oh yes, she meets a hunk that turns out to be a secret agent that works for her dad.

Antz vs. A Bug’s Life
The plot is somewhat different, for a change, but the ants are of the same kind, and of the same type of humor.

The Truman Show vs. EdTV
In both movies the main character plays a person that is a subject of a reality TV show.

Deep Impact vs. Armageddon
Something with a president, space stuff and a bad-ass team, in both movies. A lot of shouting and soul-searching as well.

Rob Boy vs. Braveheart
Scots hero with long hair in both movies, trying to rebel against aristocratic oppression. Similar location and everything.

K-9 vs. Turner & Hooch
The dogs are of different breed, but the plot is almost the same: a police detective that is solving a case with his dog while bonding to it at the same time.

you never mentioned why they do that technique of releasing similar movies close together. heck even far apart wouldn’t be that much better. why see same movie with different characters? it’s dumb. may work like once out of every 10 times.
