Famous People Worked as Movie Extras

Many film fans out there would love to just appear as an uncredited movie extra in any movie. It is the best way to experience the magic of film making.

Here we have some great actors, musicians and president of one country that have been movie extras in the past. Maybe you have seen them in some of the movies?


Sylvester Stallone was a movie extra in three movies. The first one was Woody Allen’s 1971 comedy “Bananas” as a thug in the subway. The second one was in a movie called Klute where he played a dancer in a club, and the last one in a black comedy play “The Prisoner of Second Avenue” where he was a random youth.


In this British black-and-white comedy film Phil Collins appeared as a boy in the concert audience in one of the movie scenes.


Jeff Goldblum, in a Californian party scene in the 1977 American romantic comedy Mr. Goldblum appeared as a LA party guy on phone.


As a teenager Jackie Chan was movie extra in two movies: the 1972 martial arts film “Fist of Fury” and in “Enter the Dragon”. In the last one he was one of the stuntmen. The first one was his first movie role.


In the 1992 family film “Clowning Around” Heath Ledger was an orphan clown as a movie extra. It was his first movie role ever.


David Bowie. This great musician appeared as a movie extra in 1966 comic novel “The Virgin Soldiers”. He had to cut his hair short before this role.


In the 1982 drama film “The Verdict” Bruce Willis appeared in the last courtroom scene as a courtroom observer.


Cuba Gooding Jr. could be seen as a customer in a barber shop in the 1988 comedy movie “Coming To America”.


Before he came a Cuban leader Fidel Castro played a movie extra in the 1946 movie “Holiday in Mexico”.


Ben Affleck & Matt Damon. These two talented actors appeared in the Fenway Park scenes in the 1989 American drama-sports-fantasy film “Field of Dreams” as Spectators at a Red Sox game.
