Dogs Doing Yoga
The entire Hollywood was obsessed with it, now suddenly everybody is doing it; admit that Yoga is everywhere, but who said it’s only for humans?
Photographer Daniel Borris got the idea to make the book “Yoga Dogs” when his friend’s Bull Terrier started imitating her Yoga moves in the mornings. At first the dog would just go around in circles while she was exercising, but then he suddenly started to copy the poses she did. Borris thought: why not make a book with hilarious images of dogs in crazy Yoga positions? So he did, and the book is filled with all kinds of dog breeds photoshopped in “lotus” positions and all of the different Yoga poses there is. Borris actually wants all of us to get in touch with our inner pup when doing Yoga.
Actually this form of exercise/meditation is 5000 years old and started from animals. In India animals were observed in all kinds of positions which the humans wanted to imitate back then. Many of the Yoga poses even require you to be an animal: the Frog and Camel pose. So now it’s the animals turn to imitate us again, right? All in all a very creative idea especially for Yoga and dog lovers.
