Wood Can Turn Into Awesome Sculptures

Wood Can Turn Into Awesome Sculptures

Wood is pretty much flexible; you can do a lot with it, and that is what Chicago-based artist Michael T. Rea figured out when he started his “wood projects” as you might call them.

Michael T. Rea basically makes time machines, space shuttles, instruments, machine guns, etc. out of wood, or timber if you like. He is actually a painter, but while he learned how to paint he also picked up some tricks on how to work with wood because he was fond of the material. It fascinated him in other words. Rea’s creations come in so many different sizes and shapes, and the tools he uses to manage it is all kinds of saw; jig saw, table saw, band saw, you name it. He also uses different kinds of nails, chisels and of course hand sanders.

It takes him up to two months to create one piece considering that he works a lot and often on it. Check out Pierre Matter ,he is a another artist that is making incredible sculptures like Rea, but this one is using cobber as his main material.
