Shocking 3D Illusion Scares London Mall Shoppers
Possibly one of the most dreaded scenarios when walking into the elevator is realizing there is a gaping hole on the floor leading to the abyss and you’ve just about to fall into it.
Scary enough to leave most people shocked for quite a while, which happened to a bunch of Londoners.
Unsuspecting shoppers of London’s Southside shopping centre in Wandsworth were more than surprised to live through this blood freezing experience without a scratch on their heads. What seemed like a giant hole on the floor turned out to be an incredibly realistic 3D illusion created by an artist named Andrew Walker.
This pretty unorthodox advertising step was taken to announce the opening of Nemesis Sub-Terra ride at the popular theme park, Alton Towers Resort, on March 24. The ride is based on some of the most common human fears like fear of heights, dark and claustrophobia, and it takes its visitors on a dangerous journey through a maze of underground tunnels. Same elements of shock were taken into account when making this unusual 3D ad.
The advertisement was effective indeed, but the question raised is whether all surprised shoppers were comfortable to have someone pull such a scary prank on them. Could you predict your reaction if placed in a situation like this?
