Abandoned TV Sets Are Revived In a Nostalgic Tribute To Old TV Shows

Do you get that warm and fuzzy feeling when you reminisce about you favorite childhood TV show? Then you’ll love this photo series that brings old and broken TV sets back to life.

Alex Beker, a visual artist, was inspired to do this session called “Abandoned Televisions” after he noticed a lot of discarded TV sets on the streets of Miami where he recently moved. Each television reminded him from a decade in which it was made, so he decided to take pictures of them and later digitally incorporate a scene from a show on the screen.

Each scene was selected to match the background where the TV was left, in some way – whether in the lighting, the color, or objects near the TV. That’s how one set abandoned near a parking lot got revived with a scene from the A-Team where Mr. T is driving a car.

Alex said that he wanted to turn a sad sight of an old TV thrown out in the garbage into a flashback from the childhood that brings back warm memories. Judging by the photos, he did an excellent job.

If you just got the urge to watch an old show, how about reminding yourself of Bill Cosby’s most ridiculous outfits? There are many TV providers like offers from sky tv, that will allow you to get a great package with lots of new but also old shows, so you can be spoiled for choice.
